A renowned wildlife artist with an in depth knowledge of the River Moy

Born in 1940 in Co. Tyrone, David Carlisle has gained an extensive reputation as a wildlife artist, whose passion for art is only matched by his interest in salmon angling and the River Moy.

David has been commended by the English Springer Spaniel Club from whom he has received various commissions and is recognised as one of the top Woodcock Artists in the World.

David's detailed knowledge of the countryside is evidenced by his careful compositions, that provide the background to his masterful renderings of the full grace, colour and movement of wildlife and game that are no less than true labours of love.

David is also one of the keenest anglers on the River Moy and an expert fishing guide and consultant with years of experience of the River Moy.

All of David's future paintings will have a symbol of a dog's paw in memory of his beloved Shot, a liver white Springer Spaniel who was killed tragically at 18 years old.

"The sensitivity and superb artistry of David Carlisle's work relates a deep understanding of the beauty of the Co. Tyrone countryside in which he was born."
